Books for Literacy Improvement in Sierra Leone
According to UNICEF 2008, only 38% of the adults in Sierra Leone can read and write. It is a known fact that illiteracy stunts the growth of any country. In December 2008, Rebuild A Nation, Inc. visited Camp Women in Freetown. In an effort to support the literacy program at Camp Women, donated 1,000 reading and math textbooks for their students. In addition to these items, Rebuild A Nation, Inc. supplied them with six 75lb bags of rice and various supplies, eyeglasses and clothing.
