Sia Blessing Gborie
Sia is a 2 year girl that tested HIV positive after delivery. The virus we believe was transmitted by her mother because the mother also tested HIV positive before her death.   SWAASL's timely intervention actually turned Blessing's situation around because the grand uncle and his wife had rejected the baby because of her HIV status. When they where invited to the office, they were bold enough to say to us that they were not interested in the child. Fortunately for the child, the grand-uncle's land lady: Mrs. Mamie Caulker opted to take care of the child despite her HIV status. Mrs. Caulker is now her caregiver. She has been trained as a caregiver so that she can care for the child without being infected. She has also been given some small scale business entrepreneurship training and provided with seed money to start a small business proceeds of which she could use to complement the other support she receives from SWAASL in taking care of the child.   Blessings need our help and support to continue to grow and survive.

David Tucker: Age - 5yrs
David joined the SWAASL family when his mother brought him into their office claiming that he was HIV-positive. They were desperate. David's case is a little complex. The mother has tested HIV-negative on several occasions. David's mother believes he must have contracted the virus through blood transfusions. He has been ill for a long time.  

David is on ART, but is almost always sick due to lack of food and proper care. David and mother do not have a permanent sleeping place as it is very difficult to maintain housing when the landlords learn of their HIV/AIDS situation. In addition, after months of losing weight and various complaints of illness, recently, the mother tested positive with TB and has been hospitalized at Lakka. David and his mother desperately need your financial support.
